Village Center Senior Housing Request for Proposal
Hamburg Township is promoting a Request for Proposal to work with a Development Team to Build and Manage a senior housing development on the vacant 6.5 acre property (Parcel Number 15-25-100-105) access off of the east side at the end of the existing pavement on Veterans Memorial Drive. It is the Township’s hope that a future senior housing development on this site will provide a public benefit to the residents of Hamburg Township by providing needed senior housing facilities to retain the existing aging population of the Township. Hamburg Township Brownfield Redevelopment Authority awarded
assessment grant and loan for redevelopment
LANSING. Mich. A contaminated industrial property in Hamburg Township will be returned to productive use with help from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). A $205,000 grant and a $425,000 loan were awarded to the Hamburg Township Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA) to address environmental contamination at the former Hoskins Manufacturing Inc. site located on Hall Road.
The MDEQ and Hamburg Township BRA have partnered with a local developer, Lakeland Building Concepts, LLC, to revitalize the vacant, blighted property. The MDEQ brownfield grant and loan will help assess and mitigate environmental contamination and remove blight. Lakeland Building Concepts will finish needed environmental assessment, conduct interior demolition of an existing office building, and construct storage units that will complement the growing community. The $1,000,000 redevelopment will create one new part-time job.
