Senior  Center  Trip Cancellation  Policy
** Look for the few changes to this policy due to issues that have arisen which are highlighted in "BOLD"

Adopted:  03/14/2018

Casino Trips:

Can register in advance but all fees must be paid in full 30 days prior to trip departure

Advance resercations will be cancelled unless prior arrangements for payment have been approved by the Director
Seat Reservations will be made upon final payment and are not transferable
No refunds, of any kind, will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to departure

Day Trips:

             Can register in advance but all fees must be paid in full 45 days prior to trip departure

Advance reservations will be cancelled unless prior arrangements for payment have been approved by the Director

Seat reservations will be made upon final payment and are not transferable

Cancellation fees will apply for day trips cancelled within 14 days prior to trip departure as outlined in the

cancellation policy of the Tour Company hired to conduct the trip

Cancellations fees will apply to ticketed events cancelled within 30 days prior to trip departure as outlined in the cancellation policy of the Tour Company hired to conduct the trip or the price of the non-refundable ticket already purchased by Tour Company hired

No refunds, of any kind, will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to trip departure

Extended/Overnight Trips:

Deposit is required at time of registration and can vary depending on the type & cost of trip

No reservations will be made without a deposit

Final payment is required 45 days prior to trip departure

Cancellation fees will apply for trips cancelled within 30 days prior to trip departure as outlined in the cancellation policy as designated on the trip flyer  of the Tour Company hired to conduct the trip

Trip Cancellation Insurance (option):

Cancellation Insurance may be purchased for Day Trips only for an additional  $15.00 per trip & is non-refundable

A full refund of the cost of the trip (not including the Cancellation Insurance amount) will be returned even if the cancellation takes place within the 30 days prior to trip departure, for any reason, for Day Trips  only  **  price of  show/venue ticket not refundable after tickets are ordered!!

Senior Center Policies:

In the event of bad or inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel for   safety reasons.  We will do our best to reschedule should this occur.  Under most circumstances this will result in a full refund

In the case of last minute cancellations, we will do our best to sell your seat in order to return your fee, however, cancellation fees may apply.  Any cancellation fees that are billed to Hamburg Township by the Tour Company will in turn be billed to the registrant

No refunds will be given to registrants who do not show up for the trip

Copy of the Tour Companies Cancellation policy will be provided to all registrants

There are a few trips that are FULL already!  YAY!!  But BOO if you forgot to sign up!!  Always remember to put yourself on the waiting list!  I go to it on a regular basis and have been able to get folks signed up as there are always cancellations in the few days before a trip flies!!  Just sayin.........................

Also, the surest way for me to put you on a trip is to put a deposit down on the trip whether it  be a day trip or an overnighter.  This way I at least know you're serious about the trip.  Thanks for your understanding!!



Historic Marshall, Tuesday, June 12, 2018

$84; trip includes tours of three Historic Marshall museums: 
Honolulu House: house was built in 1860 by the first consul to the Sandwich Islands, it served as the residence of 4 Marshall families until the Marshall Historical Society was formed in 1961 to purchase it and turn it into a museum. It is constructed of Marshall sandstone in a blend of Italianate, Gothic Revival and Polynesian architecture.
United States Postal Museum:  this is the 2nd largest Postal Service Museum in the U.S. and is located in the basement of post office building which was built in 1932 in a Greek Revival style of Marshall sandstone
Governor's Mansion Museum:  currently the home of the Mary Marshall Chapter , Daughters of American Revolution and was built in 1839 in the hopes that it would become the governor's home if Marshall was selected as the state capital.
Trip also includes lunch at Schuler's Restaurant & Pub (lunch choices are: prime rib, Atlantic salmon or chicken marsala w/mushroom ravioli) and dessert of a scoop of ice cream at the Parlour of Jackson.  Trip leaves at 8:30 am and returns at 5:15 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by May 11 !!



Motor City, June 27, 2018

$26; receive $15 in reward play.  Trip leaves at 9:00 am and returns at 4:00 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by May  25, 2018 !!

Mystery Trip, Tuesday, July 10, 2018

$??; join us as we head to...............head to...............hmmmm???  Where in heaven's name are we going??  Well.  We may stay in Michigan or we may head to Ohio or Indiana but definitely not to Canada so you will not need your passport  (that was your 1st hint!)!!  Your lunch is included and your choices for lunch are:  9 oz. Sirloin steak, Pan-fried Tilapia or Pineapple Bourbon Chicken (that is your 2nd hint!! ;) ).  This trip usually sells out so get on board early!!  Tentatively this trip leaves at 7:30 am and returns at  5:00 pm but these times are not set in stone as we are still working on the logistics of this trip!!  Monies for this trip are due by June 8!


Greektown Casino, Wednesday, July 18, 2018

$26;  receive $15 in slot play and a $5 food credit to be used in the food court.  Trip leaves at 9:00 am and returns at 4:00 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by June 18 !! 


Quilt Garden Tour, Tuesday, July 31, 2018

$85; trip stops at the Barn Door Quilt Garden which features a unique selection of quality antiques, repurposed & new furnishings in a rustic boutique setting as well as quilt garden viewing, lunch at Das Dutchmen Essenhaus which is known for its genuine Amish recipes, visit Krider "World's Fair" Garden which is a 2.4 acre quilt garden park and finally stop at the Shipshewana Flea Market for shopping at nearly 900 vendor booths in 26 outdoor aisles.  Trip leaves at 7:45 am and returns at 8:45 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by June 29 !!

$37; receive $20 in slot play and $5 to be used for food, slot play or the gift shop.  Trip leaves at 9:00 am and returns at 5:00 pm.  Monies for this trip are by July 16 !!


"A Day in the D", Tuesday, August 21, 2018

$73; trip includes stops at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Detroit Branch which is one of the least-known buildings in Detroit and is home to an impressive collection of paintings by Michigan artists, the Traffic Jam & Snug for lunch (lunch choices are: Madras Meatloaf, Londontown Fish & Chips, Vegetarian Spinach Lasagna, Chicken Pot Pie or Rot Roast), a 2 hour narrated cruise on the Diamond Jack River Cruise down the Detroit River and finally free time at the Detroit River Walk.  Trip leaves at 7:45 am and returns at 4:40 pm. 
Monies for this trip are due by July 20 !!


The Pioneer Trail, Monday, September 12, 2018

$76; trip features stops at southern Michigan wineries; your first stop is at Sandhill Crane Vineyards where you will have lunch and up to 8 different wine tastings plus a souvenir wine glass, next up is Cherry Creek Cellars with a tasting of 5 different wines as well as a souvenir glass and shopping in their shop and last up is the Flying Otter Winery tasting of 6 wines with cheese & crackers.  Trip departure times to be determined.  Monies for this trip are due by August 13 !!


Motorcity Casino, Wednesday, September 19, 2018

$26; receive $15 in reward play.  Trip leaves at 9:00 am and returns at 4:00 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by  August 20 !!


FULL !!  ARK  ENCOUNTER,  Thursday - Friday, September 27 - 28, 2018

$289 pp/db;  stay 1 night at Holiday Inn in Covington, KY with an included breakfast, visit the Creation Museum a 70,000 sq. ft. museum that brings the pages of the Bible to life,  dine at Greyhound Tavern an award-winning restaurant built in 1921 and finally visit the ARK ENCOUNTER, a one of a kind themed attraction that is the largest timber-frame structure in the world that features a full-size Noah's Ark built to the dimensions given in the Bible.  Lunch is on your own at Emzra's Kitchen on the bow end of the ARK before heading home.  
This trip filled up very quickly last year at Bianco's end so put your deposit down fast if you think you want to go as I will not make any reservations without a deposit.  Monies for this trip are due by August 13 with a deposit due as soon as possible!!


Stratford Festival, "The Music Man, Friday, October 12, 2018

$149; dine at the Queen's Inn buffet-style which is a landmark inn that has been in business for over 150 years, have time for shopping in downtown Stratford and finally see "The Music Man" at the Festival Theatre.  A passport, pass card or enhanced driver's license is REQUIRED for this trip into Canada.  Monies for this trip are due by August 29 !!


Greektown Casino, Wednesday, October 17, 2018

$26;  receive $15 in coin play and a $5 food voucher.  Trip leaves at 9:00 am and returns at 4:00 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by September 17 !!

Meijer Gardens, October 9 Trip is CANCELLED!!  

This was done to make space for the Stratford trip.  I'm  really sorry if this inconveniences anyone!


The Historic Whitney, Thursday, November 1, 2018

$68; dine at the Big Fish Seafood Bistro with your choice of either Fish & Chips, Chicken Cape Codder or a Tavern Burger; take a guided stroll through The Whitney (we are not dining there as the cost was prohibitive) and then take a self-guided tour of Pewabic Pottery in Detroit which was founded in 1903 by Mary Chase Perry and Horace Caulkins.  Trip leaves at 10:45 am and returns at 5:30 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by October 1 !!

$65; dine at the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor, have time for shopping at Zingerman's Delicatessen and then head over to the Wayne County Lightfest for the Midwest's largest holiday light show!  Trip leaves at 3:15 pm and returns at 9:00 pm.  Monies for this trip are due by October 26 !!
