Resolution Allowing Outdoor Commercial Uses On Commercially Zoned Or Used Properties
On June 2, 2020 Hamburg Township Board passed a resolution waiving the fees and relaxing some of the regulations for Temporary Land Use-Special Event permits to This resolution is intended to help business throughout the Township get back up and running once they are allowed to reopen.
As the State of Michigan allows commercial businesses to reopen during the Covid-19 pandemic, it is likely that either their seating capacity or occupancy will be significantly reduced and customers may understandably be concerned about congregating in an enclosed space. To support the local businesses during these tough times the Hamburg Township Board would like to make it as easy as possible for these commercial businesses to thrive while still protecting the health and safety of the community.
The resolution waives the $75 dollar permit application fee and relaxes the regulations regarding parking and hours of operations for a Temporary Land Use-Special Event permit to allow temporary outdoor commercial use for the summer of 2020.
This resolution does not negate other local, state or federal regulations not controlled by Hamburg Township that would be required for the specific outdoor commercial use.
The approved resolution and the Temporary Land Use-Special Event Permit application and Checklist can be found on the Hamburg Township Website on the webpage called Supporting Hamburg Township Businesses at http://www.hamburg.mi.us/news_detail_T12_R20.php.
