- Come Friday, Livingston County residents will have a centralized location
to take care of business at Secretary of State. The PLUS office will open
at 9am Friday and is situated between Howell and Brighton in the Kohls shopping
plaza off Grand River near the I-96/Lake Chemung exit. The PLUS office will
feature expanded hours on Wednesdays until 9pm and 24-hour self service stations
for license plate tab renewals. Secretary of State Spokesman Fred Woodhams
tells WHMI that the new office is tailored to meet customer needs in the
21st century. He says the goal is to consolidate resources while offering
improved customer convenience. The old Brighton and Howell branches closed
earlier this month in order to consolidate the offices. The creation of the
PLUS office was part of former Secretary of State Teri Lynn land’s “Branch
Office Modernization Program” which aimed to optimize the use of people,
dollars and technology. (JM)
