Two Local Men Senteced
For Delivering Heroin
1/20/11 - Two of several local residents busted for
selling heroin in Hamburg Township have been sentenced. 38-year-old Curtis
Hineman will serve 8 months in the Livingston County Jail for his earlier guilty
pleas to two charges if delivering less than 50 grams of heroin on October
24th. 20-year-old Shane Kelly pleaded guilty to one count of the same and was
sentenced to 91 days of time already served. He must serve three years probation
and attend no less than three AA classes every week. Hineman and Kelly, 20-year-old
Cody Buck, 30-year-old Jessica Balden, 36-year-old Steven Hineman, and 26-year-old
Autumn Lauer were all charged in different cases for delivery of heroin at
locations including Chilson Road and M-36, the Hamburg Food Center and in the
Kroger parking lot. Buck, a 2008 Pinckney High School graduate, had recently
shared his recovery story at a community forum on the dangers of heroin before
he was arrested on the delivery charge November 7th. The drug investigations
and arrests in October and November were part of a recent crackdown on heroin
dealers and users by Hamburg Township Police. A warrant has been issued for
Autumn Lauer, who failed to appear in court. (JM)
