Livingston County Jumps To 11th Largest In Michigan After Census

News Photo 3/22/11 - Livingston County’s population increased over the past decade. That’s according to 2010 data released Tuesday by the US Census Bureau for Michigan’s 83 counties. Senior Partnership Specialist for the Michigan Census Norma Ricci tells WHMI that Livingston County’s population now stands at 180,967 when compared to 156,951 in 2000 and it really made a big jump. The county gained 24,016 residents, marking a 15.3% increase. Livingston County had the second largest percentage change in the state of Michigan, making it the 11th largest county. It was the 15th largest in 2000. Ottawa County on the shore of Lake Michigan is showing the largest population increase among Michigan's top 10 counties.
