Hamburg Township invites you
to come out and enjoy our wonderful park -a 384-acre
recreational facility that houses baseball/softball/ and T-ball
fields, soccer fields, playgrounds, football practice fields,
a
model airplane runway/flying field, basketball courts, picnic
areas, hiking trails, fishing dock, Lakelands Trail and more.
The park land is located along
both the east and west sides of Merrill Road.
With the exception
of the municipal office complex, this land has been designated
and developed as the Manly Bennett Memorial Park.
For the most part,
the youth sports programs that utilize the Hamburg Township park
facilities are non-profit
organizations, run by a membership elected Board of Directors.
The organizations are totally responsible for all expenses related
to the sports programs. Hamburg
Township does not sponsor any sports programs. View the
section on Community Sports Programs and Group Recreational Organizations
for more information.
In addition to numerous
sports programs, for the past several years, Manly W. Bennett
Park has hosted the annual Family
Funfest. In 2010, the Park
also hosted the Moving
Wall Vietnam Memorial.
To hold a special event
at the Park, please contact the Hamburg Community
Recreational Services Organization to request a time and space and register
the event to obtain approval for it from the Hamburg
Township Board of Trustees, which governs the conduct of all park activities.
