Wednesday, January 6, 2010: The USPS is closing
the Hamburg Post Office with very little notice to our community.
Effective Monday, January 11,
2010, all operations, including mail pick up and retail services
for the Hamburg Post Office will move to the Pinckney Post Office
located at 1325 East M-36.

Wednesday, September 23,
2009: The Hamburg Township
Board of Trustees is working to resolve issues with the Treasurer's
office. In her letter of 9-12-2009, the consultant Colleen M. Coogan
provided the Township Board of Trustees with a list of 32
recommendations regarding the Hamburg Treasurer Office
and Accounting Department Evaluation. The Board passed
a resolution on implementing the recommendations at its 9-15-2009
meeting, with Treasurer Evon absent and Clerk Skiba voting against

July 9, 2009: Hamburg Township is accepting applications
for a Planning Commissioner. Applicant must
be a qualified elector and property owner of Hamburg Township. Planning
Commission members are appointed by the Hamburg Township Supervisor
with the approval of the Hamburg Township Board. Term of
each Commissioner is for 3 years. The Planning Commission
meetings are typically held in Hamburg Township Hall’s Board
Meeting Room located at 10405 Merrill Road, Hamburg, Michigan on
the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 p.m., with meetings
currently being held only when there is business to be considered. Meeting
agendas and information packets are distributed approximately 5
days prior to the date of a scheduled meeting. Occasional
site walks of contemplated projects may be scheduled at other times
as set by the Planning Commission on an as-needed basis. Applicant
must complete and submit the following: a Hamburg Township
Employment Application, job resume, and letter of interest to Patrick
Hohl, Hamburg Township Supervisor, P.O. Box 157, Hamburg, Michigan 48139

Tuesday, December 9, 2008: Sewer Rates Increased: A letter from Supervisor Hohl was sent out to Hamburg sewer customers detailing new increased sewer rates. On November 11, 2008, the Township Board of Trustees voted to increase quarterly sewer rates from $91.50 to $149.50 per Residential Equivalent Unit (REU). The rate increase is effective January 1, 2009.

Thursday, November 20, 2008: Patrick J. Hohl was elected to a 4 year term (2008-2012) as Hamburg Township Supervisor on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. He was sworn in and began his service as Supervisor at a ceremony held in the Hamburg Township Hall Boardroom on Thursday, November 20, 2008.
