SEWER ALARMS AND EMERGENCIES

NOTE: All homes and business establishments with sewer service are required by Hamburg Township Ordinance to use potassium chloride in water softeners. Sodium chloride is prohibited.

    IF YOU HAVE SEWER PROBLEMS OR A GRINDER PUMP EMERGENCY ALARM:

  • New Telephone Number for Sewer Alarms and/or Emergencies

    1-810-217-6085

  • Hamburg Township provides 24-hour support for grinder pump alarms and emergency sewer service needs of the residents.

  • The new telephone number allows you to call 1-810-217-6085 and speak directly with a Department of Public Works (DPW) Sewer Service Technician.

  • Please provide the Technician with your name, address, and telephone number with a detailed explanation of the nature of the problem.

  • A DPW Technician will respond to your request for service within 20 minutes by telephone and will be on-site to complete a diagnosis of the problem and complete any necessary repairs within 1 hour.

  • If there is a problem with the grinder pump station it will alert the Control Panel mounted on the side of your home.  The control panel is gray or black with a red light located on top.

  • The alarm will make an audible noise and the red light will come on. In order to silence the alarm you may press the reset button on the bottom of the panel. However, this DOES NOT fix the problem with the grinder pump station or sewer connection.

  • Please call 1-810-217-6085 immediately for service.  Technicians are on-call 24 hours a day so there is no need to wait until business hours to call. Please limit your water use until the problem is diagnosed and repaired.
