AND PROCEDURES FOR SEWER EXTENSIONS
POLICY #5
The following policies
and procedures shall apply for the extension and connection of
sewer systems within Hamburg Township.
Application shall be made on a
form developed by the Hamburg Township Municipal Utilities Committee
and approved by the Hamburg Township Board of Trustees.
Fees shall be submitted in accordance
with the approved Hamburg Township schedule of fees.
Upon receipt of a complete application
and fees, the application shall be forwarded to the Township Engineer
for an estimate of costs associated with the sewer extension. In
review of the application, the Township Engineer shall take into
consideration the following:

1. Scaled drawing showing the
bearings and distances of property lines. In the case of platted
lots, a copy of the existing lot layout shall be provided.
2. A scaled plot plan showing
the location of existing/proposed drive(s), utilities easements,
building footprint(s), well location, existing utilities and significant
natural features (wetlands, floodplain, drainage courses, streams
and woodlands).
3. Main extensions shall be to
the extent necessary to service the primary facility requesting
service. In the event that the service lateral is within 30 feet
of an existing drive, the main shall be extended beyond the existing
drive to avoid future disturbance to the drive. Extensions may
continue through to adjoining parcels at the request of the applicant.
Exemptions:
Desired exemptions from this policy
may be granted upon written request submitted, and just cause shown
by property owner, along with a scaled site plan for review and
recommendation by the Hamburg Township Municipal Utilities Committee
and Township Board approval.
