The following procedures will apply to all property owners who are seeking to connect a single building unit to the Hamburg Township Sewer System. Any property owners seeking to connect more than one building unit to the Hamburg Township Sewer System shall comply with provisions of the Policies and Procedures For Development Connection to the Hamburg Township Sewer System.
1. Any licensed contractor who meets the following qualifications shall be added to the Approved Contractor List for Sewer Connections:
- they have completed training in the installation of grinder pumps supplied by John Adams & Associates, Inc. or another engineering firm designated by the Hamburg Township Board of Trustees, and
- they currently have on file with the Township a copy of the required insurance, and
- they have executed an agreement to warrant the materials and workmanship for a period of five years from the date installation is completed.
2. All individual connections to the Sewer System proposed to be made through connecting into an existing curb stop with box shall be posted on the Request for Quotation List at the Hamburg Township Hall. Connections requiring live main taps of the sewer system shall be completed by the Township Contractor as mandated by Township policy.
3. Also, any new Requests for Quotation shall be mailed to all those on the Approved Contractor List.
4. Upon receipt of the quotations, those quotations shall be made available to the property owner.
5. The property owner shall select the contractor to complete the work from the quotations received.
6. The contract will be awarded to the contractor selected by the property owner in the event the work is scheduled for construction.
7. Any Contractor may be removed from the approved list for cause by the Municipal Utilities Committee. Prior to removal from the approved list, the Sewer Committee shall give the Contractor 10 days written notice to appear before the Committee to show cause why they should not be removed from the list. After having received written notice, and after having had an opportunity to object to their removal in a hearing before the Municipal Utilities Committee, the Committee shall have final authority to determine whether or not the Contractor shall remain on the list.
