FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER

Hamburg Township is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Must have reached 21^st birthday at time of appointment.
• Must be MCOLES licensed or eligible for licensing upon appointment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of application.
• No felony convictions and/or disqualifying criminal history.
• Must possess at minimum an Associate’s Degree (or 60 credits) from an accredited college (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Ability to successfully pass an extensive background check, physical examination, psychological examination and drug screening test.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions of a police officer.

 WAGES AND BENEFITS

Current annual salary structure:

• Starting salary:  $56,063.28
• After 6 months: $60,060.00
• After 1 year:       $64,056.72
• After 2 years:     $68,075.28
• After 3 years:     $72,050.16
• After 4 years:     $80,021.76

             (Note: These salaries will increase 3% on 07/01/23 and 3% on 7/01/24 per the Collective Bargaining Agreement).

• MERS defined benefit pension plan with 2.25 multiplier.
• Blue Cross-Blue Shield Community Blue PPO medical/dental/vision plan.
• 14 paid holidays.
• Paid vacation time.
• 12 hours of paid sick time earned per month.
• College tuition reimbursement (up to $6,000 per year).
• Annual educational incentive bonus: Associate’s Degree: $500, Bachelor’s Degree: $1000, Master’s Degree: $1500.
• All overtime worked on marine patrol details paid at double time.
